§ 2-6. [Main Street board.]

  • The perpetuation of a Main Street board will allow the city to identify key areas for development in the downtown area and actively pursue opportunities to maintain steady growth in the region.

    The City of Leesville recognizes and commissions a Main Street board which will comprise eight members who are volunteers and are appointed by the mayor. Each member will serve three-year terms. A board chairman will be appointed from among the members who will facilitate the oversight of the board's regular meetings.

    The board will function as a liaison for the city at local, state and national Main Street venues and will promote economic development by coordinating events within the Leesville Main Street District.

    Upon council approval, the board is authorized to delineate Main Street district boundaries and identify key areas for development.
