§ 74-321. University Parkway Development District planning commission.

(a)

The City of Leesville recognizes the University Parkway Development District planning commission created by the Vernon Parish Police Jury by and with authority under R.S. 33:103.A. and 33:4780.45.

(b)

Pursuant to Ordinance No. 7 of 2012 of the Vernon Parish Police Jury, the University Parkway Development District planning commission shall have two members appointed by the Vernon Parish Police Jury, two members appointed by the City of Leesville, and one member jointly appointed by the Vernon Parish Police Jury and the City of Leesville. All members shall hold initial one-year terms from date of appointment (subject to reappointment for such terms as may be approved as such time).

(c)

The two members of the University Parkway Development District Planning Commission appointed by the City of Leesville shall be as follows:

(d)

The Mayor of the City of Leesville shall have the authority to appoint members to the University Parkway Development District planning commission, with concurring approval of the city council.

(e)

The jurisdiction of the University Parkway Development District planning commission shall be the same geographic area described in Ordinance No. 13 of 2011 of the Vernon Parish Police Jury, along with any amendments thereto.

(f)

Unit otherwise provided, staff assistance to the University Parkway Development District planning commission shall be tasked to the planner contracted by the regional growth management team, under such financial arrangements as shall be mutually agreed by the Vernon Parish Police Jury, the regional growth management team, and the planner.
