§ 14-400. Adoption of plumbing code; purpose and scope.

  • The purpose of this article is to provide the minimum standards, provisions and requirements for the installation, operation and maintenance of every plumbing installation, piping, appliances, fixtures, fittings and all appurtenances thereto, and/or when connected to the water or sewerage system, for the protection of the public health and safety.

    All such plumbing installations, piping, appliances, fixtures, and/or appurtenances thereto installed, replaced, maintained or repaired within the corporate limits of the city shall conform to the requirements of this article, whether the same be connected to the public water or sewerage system or be self contained, and shall likewise conform to the specifications, rules and regulations of the International Plumbing Code adopted in section 14-1, which specifications, rules and regulations are hereby incorporated herein by reference and made a part of this article as if fully set forth herein, copies of such specifications, rules and regulations shall be kept on file in the office of the clerk of the city.
