§ 14-200. Adoption of electrical code; purpose and scope.

This purpose of this article is to provide the minimum standards, provisions and requirements for the installation, operation and maintenance of every electrical installation, wiring, appliances and fixtures for the protection of the public health and safety.

All such electrical installations, wiring, fixtures, etc., installed, replaced, maintained or repaired within the corporate limits of the city shall conform with the requirements of this article and shall likewise conform to the specifications, rules and regulations set forth in and known as the National Electrical Code in current edition, which specifications, rules and regulations are hereby incorporated herein by reference and made a part of this article as if fully set forth herein, and a copy of such specifications, rules and regulations shall be kept on file in the office of the clerk of the city.
