§ 10-300. Snakes.

  • It shall be a violation of this chapter for any person to keep or permit to be kept within the corporate limits of the city any poisonous snake, or any nonpoisonous snake longer than eight feet. All nonpoisonous snakes must be kept on the owners premises. If any such snake is found off the owner's property, the owner shall be $50.00 for the first offense, $100.00 for the second offense, and upon the third offense, the animal will be impounded by the city dog catcher or any other officer designated by the mayor and the city council, with said animal being destroyed, and the owner may in addition be fined in accordance with section 10-302.
