§ 102-205. Separate connection required for each premises.

  • All water system customers of the City of Leesville shall comply with the following policy set forth and established by Ordinance No. 3/12.

    (1)

    In cases where multiple buildings are under the same ownership and rented to tenants, such as apartments, the city will charge a minimum water and sewer rate for each building. This fee will be charged in addition to any utility revenue paid to the city from existing meters from the property.

    (2)

    A property owner, who pays a minimum water and sewer rate as mentioned above, will be required to comply with the policy if the individual chooses to construct any additional buildings or structures requiring water and sewer service.

    (3)

    In cases where multiple dwellings are under the same ownership and rented to tenants, such as trailer parks, the city will charge a minimum water and sewer bill for each dwelling unit. This fee will be charged in addition to any utility revenue paid to the city from existing meters on the property.

    (4)

    If any additional dwelling units are constructed after the effective date and adoption of this ordinance [from which this section derives], full compliance with the policy will be required.

    The City Council of the City of Leesville, adopts the above policy for promoting compliance with separate connections for each premises within the water system of the City of Leesville.
